Our Unique Training Approach

At Fredrickson Aviation, we take a distinctive approach to instrument training. Traditional methods often confine students to the local area of their home airport, focusing on holds, approaches, and practice with little interaction with Air Traffic Control (ATC) or center controllers. Flight training limited to a local area can result in a lack of real-world exposure.

With the team at Fredrickson Aviation, training begins with the foundational skills and competency development within the first five hours. Once these basics are covered, the real adventure starts. We immerse our students in the ATC system through instrument cross-country flights, exposing them to various weather conditions and approach scenarios. This method ensures our students are adept at the following:

• Communicating with ATC on the radios
• Navigating into different and unfamiliar airports
• Executing diverse approaches
• Experiencing a broad spectrum of instrument flying challenges
  

This hands-on experience fulfills the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) requirements for 50 hours of cross-country flight and enhances overall proficiency by integrating real-world scenarios into the training process.
